This article will give you hints on how to get through writer’s block and write real stories.

Sometimes on Medium, I can tell that the author put a bunch of words together just to write something. The article doesn’t have much substance to it. I believe I have done this myself a time or two.

I decided to sincerely think about how to get past writer’s block. Here are some tips that I came up with:

  1. ) Break your life up into decades. Makes notes about things you did or experienced in each decade. What was going on in the world and how did this affect you? Fashion, politics, icons, and news are all things that you can write about.
  2. ) Where have you visited? Two people can visit the same city and come away with many different experiences.
  3. ) What are you passionate about? Do you like to make homemade bread? Are you into mountain climbing? Have you invented something? Did you get involved in a cause to better the world? If so, how did this change your life? Many people will identify with your passions and be interested in what you have to say?

4.) Are you an expert at anything? Could you teach your readers something? I am a nurse so I have written articles on the medical field. https://robinlaurain.medium.com/why-you-should-consider-being-a-home-health-aide-848f13719f2c
