Censorship Hurts Us All

Have you ever read something that you found offensive and thought to your self, “this shouldn’t be allowed to be printed”? Most of us have and yet if that were to happen, this would be censorship and would eventually hurt all of us.

Since the war between Russia and Ukraine has began, journalists or anyone with a Russian name have been deplatformed. Lee Camp,( who I consider today’s George Carlin), has been removed from YouTube. He has been forced to set up shop on Patreon. Eight years of Lee’s videos of, “Redacted Tonight”, have been redacted, (per Lee Camp).

Anyone speaking out against the war may be censored. Especially if the writer calls out the role NATO has played in helping to advance this situation to where it is now.

It took me 8 years to get to 5000 contacts on Facebook and I have been locked from that account. My anti-war views and being vocal about them is more and likely why this has happened.

As writers, we should collectively come together and write about the situation to put this on people’s radar.

Censorship is the equivalent of book burning and we know how well that turned out. #notocensorship
